I picked up my brand new cbr929 on May 31, 2000 and I had the cool aid smile for weeks after that. This was my first street bike and I am very happy I chose the 929. Up until the beginning of 2006 the only modifications I did was a Micron slip on exhaust. Other than my second gear going, I am very happy with the bike.
